This master bathroom in Issaquah came to us the way many do. Well built, generously sized, but frozen in a decade that had long since passed. Carpet on the bathroom floor. Brass fixtures throughout. Dated tile stopping halfway up the shower wall. A double vanity with good bones but everything else needing to change.
The family had been thinking about this remodel for years. They knew how they wanted to feel when they walked in. They just needed a team who could see the potential and build something around it.
When Amir walked the space he saw a bathroom with genuinely great architecture. High ceilings. A skylight that flooded the room with natural light. Plenty of square footage. The kind of space that deserved something special.
Before a single plan was drawn, Amir sat down and hand sketched the entire shower design. Niche placement, bench position, drainage layout, tile dimensions. The family could see exactly what they were getting before we touched a wall. That is how every project at American Remodeling Experts begins.
Demo to completion: 3 weeks.
The shower was completely reimagined. We used Marazzi Modern Oasis Soft Cloud 12×24 porcelain tile floor to ceiling on all shower walls. The floor is hand selected river rock pebble tile, every stone chosen for color, size and texture. A frameless sliding glass door opens the space completely. Built in niches at two heights hold everything without cluttering the walls. A wall mounted fold down teak bench gives the shower a spa quality that the family uses every single day.
The flooring throughout the entire bathroom is LifeProof Dusk Cherry waterproof vinyl plank, sourced from Home Depot at $2.98 per square foot. Scratch resistant, 100% waterproof, and it looks exactly like real white oak hardwood. The skylight, repainted and resealed for $430, floods the new floors with natural light every morning.
The vanity wall became the showpiece. Custom dark espresso cabinetry with a full row of drawers replaced everything that was there before. Two ceramic rectangular vessel sinks sit on a Calacatta marble countertop. Two Kohler Verdera LED backlit mirrors including a side extension kit illuminate the entire room with warm even light. Two VIGO Amada brushed nickel faucets and matching drain covers tie every finish together.
The old hollow core door was replaced with a custom barn door featuring frosted glass panels and black iron hardware. One of those details that transforms a functional room into something that genuinely feels like a retreat.
The Lattimore shower system with both a rainfall head and a separate hand shower on a slide bar means every family member gets the shower experience they actually want.
